Three Ways to Stop Smoking When Suffering Schizophrenia

Researches have proven that most of the common physical problems are a result of heavy smoking. Smoking is known to be the No. 1 cause to unwanted illness between people who have schizophrenia. Here are the three most effective ways to quit smoking while you have schizophrenia:

1) Quit with decision

Researches have proven that only 3% of the people, who decide to quit smoking without smoking, would succeed not to smoke beyond the first year of their quitting. Therefore it is better to quit with other available methods.

2) Quit with drugs

A person who uses drugs such as Chantix or Zyban has more chances to succeed with their decision to quit smoking. From my own experience with Zyban, this drug is not so dangers for people living with schizophrenia even though it is an anti-depression drug. You can give your doctor the excuse that you prefer of receiving a psychotic disorder than to continue with your life as a smoker.

3) The combined treatment

It seems to be that the combined treatment is a most effective way to quit smoking. It combines between group therapy with a professional conductor to taking anti-smoking drugs such as Zyban and Chantix. This method has 50% chances to remain a nonsmoker even after the first year of quitting smoking and is recommended by me.

No matter what the method you decide to quit smoking with, you should remember that it would only improve your life in aspects such as – your physical health, your ability to bread, your fitness, your smell, and many other reasons.
