Many industries release thousands of poisons into the environment every day, profoundly polluting the air we breathe. The most significant causes are the mining, chemical, paper, and transportation industries.

If not possible, you should stay in the house as much as possible.
However, indoor air can be more than 5-10 times more polluted than outside air due to lack of ventilation. Therefore, consider using a high-quality air cleaner.
Clean your floor regularly using HEPA filter vacuum cleaners.
Get some house plants.
Leave your shoes near the door when you enter the house.
Don’t let tobacco smoke at home. Smoking is terrible, but passive smoking is almost as dangerous. Every year, due to exposure to tobacco smoke, an estimated 3,000 Americans who do not smoke die of lung cancer, and 300,000 children suffer from lower respiratory infections.
Use household cleaning products that are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and VOC-free.
Avoid using air fresheners and scented candles.
Avoid non-stick or Teflon cookware, which releases toxins into the air when heated. It’s safer to use ceramic cooking utensils.
Minimize your exposure to radiation-based medical scans, including body and dental x-rays, CT scans, and mammograms. This form of ionizing radiation has been shown to increase cancer risk over time. Every radiation exposure accumulates in the body and the risk of cancer increases with each radiation exposure. So even though one source of radiation exposure cannot cause cancer by itself, combined exposure increases throughout our lives and increased the risk of cancer in the long run.
Mobile phones emit radiofrequency energy, a form of electromagnetic radiation that is not ionized. In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) / International Agency for Research on Cancer classified the electromagnetic fields produced by mobile phones as Class B carcinogens in humans. This classification in part in response to research that shows cordless telephones increases the risk of brain cancer.
An Israeli research group found a four-fold increase in parotid gland cancer from 1970 to 2006, with the sharpest increase occurring after 2001. The parotid gland is a type of salivary gland, which is closest to your cheek, the same area where most people usually hold their cellphones. Studies show that other salivary gland cancer rates remain stable.
Don’t hold the cellphone to your ear. Instead, use the speaker phone feature or wired headset.
Never bring your cellphone to your body. For women, don’t put the cell in your bra. For men, do not place the telephone near your reproductive organs.
Adolescents are at the highest risk for parotid gland tumors and brain tumors because their thinner skull bones allow greater penetration of cellphone radiation into their midbrain. Also, children’s cells reproduce faster, so they are more susceptible to aggressive cell growth.
Pregnant women will also be wise to avoid cellphones as much as possible.
